About This Script

Process multiple open documents or an entire folder of images and resize them to your specified dimensions. Supports resize by width, height, longest edge, shortest edge, or exact dimensions with padding. The script maintains aspect ratio by default with an option to force exact dimensions. Includes sharpening after downsize, metadata preservation, and supports output to a separate folder. Perfect for preparing web images, creating thumbnail sets, or standardizing image sizes for galleries and e-commerce.

How to Install

Method 1 — Run directly

  1. Download the .jsx file
  2. Open Illustrator
  3. Go to File > Scripts > Other Script...
  4. Select the downloaded .jsx file
  5. The script runs immediately

Method 2 — Install permanently

  1. Copy the .jsx file to the Scripts folder:
  2. C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Illustrator [version]\Presets\en_US\Scripts\
  3. Restart Illustrator
  4. Find the script under File > Scripts > Batch Resize Images

How do I run this script?
